Crusoe integration progressing perfectly!
Crusoe – the park’s new one year old sea lion pup is settling really well following his arrival from Germany a few months ago. Crusoe is being put through a carefully planned programme of integration and training led by Head Keeper Jamie Wood and sea lion trainers Jenna Briggs and Leitza Gorman. He is now regularly meeting Aero, one of the park’s two resident sea lions and they’re thoroughly enjoying being with each other!
Jamie Wood, Head Keeper said "We are extremely pleased with how the training is going. It is immensely rewarding for me and the sea lion team to see the way Crusoe is progressing each day. It's a wonderful feeling when we see the two boys together. Crusoe is certainly taking each step on his new journey in his stride, what a perfect addition and ambassador for educational conservation at our Park"
The sea Lion Team added "Crusoe is developing at such a rate, even after we have a day off, its like meeting a new Crusoe on our return. The introduction with Aero and Crusoe is going well, Aero is being an absolute gentleman and giving Crusoe all the time and space he needs to be happy with him".
Crusoe’s next milestone will be meeting Morgan, the park’s oldest and most dominant sea lion.
